My Friend....Chester.

Alright. My next most anticipated exposee is coming up and this time, it is about a certain person who I find has inspired me to be the individual who I am today. Yes, I have to say that I have been rather slow with my next exposee but this is because it is either I can’t find the right time to write out my next exposee or I can’t find the right mood to write it out perfectly. It’s pathetic, I can assure you but this is how I’ve worked for my blog.

Anyways, coming back to my latest exposee of my friends. This time around, I have brought forward this particular person who has shown much of the world to me, a person who exposed me to the wonderful world of music, fashion, books…and the list goes on. Yes, this time my article will be about Sir Chester Chin Zhao Liang. Ahem, yes, he gets to be called Sir because of our joke about each other when we start speaking medieval England to each other. I remember those messages, yes I do.

Alright, let me get my mind straight for a moment.

Chester is what I would call, the metrosexual, up-to-date, fantastic to talk to kind of friend. If that may appear kinda too much to be understood, personal understanding of Chester is required. This means meeting him and being his friend. Yes. He is not any ordinary individual out there in the market ready to be fished by unsuspecting sharks because this fish’s got bite. Yes he does. Okay, this is not the way I would usually put my sentences but I’m trying to be different here.

Chester is someone with quite a celebrity-like status. For one, he wrote articles for the Star newspaper before. And for those who live under the coconut shell, the Star newspaper is the national newspaper for Malaysia. Yes, not only one article but at least two articles have been written by him and published for the entire nation’s appreciation. Chester has not only written for the paper but also at times, send his own letters to the paper to comment about a certain topic he finds interesting in the paper. And trust me, I know about this because he informs me about it when his name pops up in the paper.

As such, you people would have guessed that he is an amazing writer. Well, obviously he is. Without a shadow of doubt, he is one writer you don’t wanna mess with. You will cry and sulk if you even dare to think about challenging him to an essay competition. His excellent English comprehension leaves me in much of a jealousy because I just cannot even reach his standard of understanding. Not to nag but this sometimes makes me feel rather left out. For those who don’t know, he is also rather popular in the blogosphere environment. It is like, wherever that involves much writing, his name pops out faster than a bubble.

True enough, with that in his resume; he is practically safe in almost many of his further choices in life. Okay, enough of him. I wanna write about my first impression now. Believe it or not, how I knew Chester was actually thanks to Wee Sheong. Why? Because they knew each other before Form Six started. And Chester entered Form Six later. So I got to know him after Wee Sheong introduced Chester to me. And let me just say, there are no regrets there. Knowing him was like knowing a mini-celebrity. Yeah, probably too much of a compliment there but so what, he does deserve that for what he has achieved so far.

Besides everything, he let me in as a friend. I’m very glad of that. Especially when he introduced his ‘musical goddess’ to me, I knew he did treat me as a good friend. Yes, the ‘goddess of lyrics and music’ to him is Rachael Yamagata. For those that don’t know, he’s the Malaysian ambassador for this singer because nobody else would fit the job. And let me just say, he’s doing a fine job with that, with all the free publicity in his blog and just about anyone who knows him must be informed about her by him.

Seriously, when there is an article about Chester, it can go on and on because he has done so much for me, I just hope I am able to return at least half of what he has done back to him. If I am not wrong and I know I am not, I surprised him with probably one of the best Christmas presents he will ever receive in his life. Unless of course, his future wife decides to surprise him, I’m sure her present will beat mine any time. Yeah, my first time shopping online using the eBay and I used it to get Chester a lovely music album. Yes, you guessed it, he may have been the worshipper of ‘Rachael Yamagata’ but he did not own her album before, just the digital ‘download’ copy. And I thought, this should not be happening because if you are a big fan of someone, you should be supporting her. And one way he can do that would be to own her album physically. And yes, he owns both of her albums now, physically.

Alright, time to make this short. Don’t wanna bore you readers out. What I have learnt from Chester…Is it that hard to guess? I learn from Chester the most awesome singer/artist/music composer there is out there! Besides that? He introduced me to so many different kinds of things in life. Yeah, must be because I was a hermit once so, please…he did a lot. He took me to the MTV World Stage..yes he did. Had so much fun with him. So glad he is my friend. Yeah, besides all that too, don’t forget…He is better in English than me…So yeah, he taught me the language better too. Eventhough it’s just by reading some of the articles he has written.

Okay, here I go saying...I hope life will be good to Chester because he deserves a wonderful life and among everything else, I do hope he finally gets to shake hands with Rachael Yamagata one day, and probably hug her once too. I bet that could happen if he becomes a journalist and one fine day, his boss decides to sent him all the way to US just to interview her. I'm sure he will be on cloud nine by then. But I also hope he will not forget the one who got him the 'Happenstance' album which also originates all the way from the States...It took some time to come, but I hope he will treasure that gift and also our friendship forever.
